Rotary Club de Beyrouth – Beirut Rise & Shine
Founded in 1932, the Rotary Club de Beyrouth is the District 2452 Senior Rotary Club.
The motto of the Rotary International is Service Above Self; therefore,
the purpose of Rotary is to provide the opportunity to Serve the General Interest of the Community and Promote Peace.
Following the explosion that tore apart the city of Beirut on August 4, 2020, the RCB is launching a wide subscription, an appeal for solidarity, to all Rotarians and Friends of the Rotary, around the world, urging them to support the Lebanese people who not only lost their homes, but were mostly deprived of their livelihoods.
The Rotary Club of Beirut has rigorously selected the following specific projects:
1. Rehabilitation of the Quarantine PEDIATRIC HOSPITAL with the association ASSAMEH - BIRTH AND BEYOND (Association of Assistance to the Mother and the Child in the Hospital) - The Quarantine Hospital, rehabilitated in 2016, was completely destroyed ... Everything needs to be redone: The building must be restored and the pediatric and obstetrical floors must be re-equipped.
2. Aid to Public Interest Associations:
* IRAP (Institute of audio phonetic re-education for young people from underprivileged
backgrounds);
* SESOBEL (Institute for the rehabilitation of disabled and autistic children);
* DAR AL AJAZA (Sheltering and hospitalization of elderly people without resources).
3. Aid to Associations which assist families in rebuilding their homes after the tragedy of
August 4, 2020:
* Habitats du Cœur - (Association which assists needy people; Habitats du Coeur rounded up a team of engineers to supervise the professional restoration of damaged homes).

La Devise du Rotary International étant, Servir d’Abord, l’objectif du Rotary est de fournir l’occasion de Servir l’Intérêt général de la Comunauté et Promouvoir la Paix.
Suite à l’explosion qui a ravagé la ville de Beyrouth le 4 août 2020, le RCB souhaite lancer une grande souscription, un appel urgent de solidarité, à tous les Rotariens et à tous les Amis du Rotary, à travers le monde, afin de soutenir le peuple libanais qui a été, non seulement violemment frappé au Coeur de son foyer, mais également privé de ses moyens de subsistance.
Le Rotary Club de Beyrouth a sélectionné de façon rigoureuse les projets spécifiques suivants :
- Réhabilitation de L’HOPITAL PEDIATRIQUE DE LA QUARANTAINE avec l’association ASSAMEH - BIRTH AND BEYOND (Association d'Aide à la Mère et l'Enfant à l'Hôpital)- L’hôpital de la Quarantaine, réhabilité en 2016, a été détruit…Tout est à refaire. Il faut reconstruire le bâtiment et équiper de nouveau les étages de pédiatrie et d’obstétrique.
- Aide aux Associations d’intérêt public:
- IRAP (Institut de rééducation audio phonétique pour les jeunes de milieux défavorisés) ;
- SESOBEL (Institut de rééducation d’enfants handicapés et autistes),
- DAR AL AJAZA (Accueil et hospitalisation de personnes âgées sans ressources).
- Aide aux Associations qui assistent les familles dans la reconstruction de leur foyer après la tragédie du 4 août :
- Habitats du Cœur - (Association qui soutient les démunis ; grâce à la formation d’une équipe d’ingénieurs, elle oeuvre pour une restauration professionnelle des demeures endommagées).
